eBay teams with SingPost, USPS for Singapore-US online exports

eBay partners with USPS and SingPost

E-commerce giant eBay has linked up with Singapore Post and the US Postal Service to boostonline export trade from Singapore to the USA in its latest tripartite shipping deal with postal

operators.

eBay and SingPost yesterday launched ePAC, a new shipping service for eBay sellers in Singapore,working in collaboration with USPS. It follows a similar deal between the e-commerce firm, ChinaPost and USPS in 2010 to boost online shipping from China to the USA.

In addition to providing sellers and their US customers with a faster, more convenient andaffordable shipping solution, the ePAC service is also part of eBay and SingPost’s ongoing effortsto boost trade from Singapore to the United States. The service is being prominently displayed oneBay’s Southeast Asia homepage under http://sea.ebay.com/epac/.

By using ePAC, eBay Singapore sellers can receive enhanced international tracking and deliveryof lightweight goods, not exceeding 2kg, from Singapore to the United States within 6 to 8 workingdays, the partners said. The ePAC shipments will be delivered by USPS using its First Class mailnetwork within the USA.

Singapore-based eBay sellers can start using ePAC via a fully integrated platform at‘http://apacshippingtool.ebay.com/HomePage’ allowing them take orders, print labels and track thestatus of shipments via their “My eBay” account. The tool also gives US-based customers tools toeasily track and confirm delivery via their My eBay account, giving increased peace of mind tobuyers who appreciate the great value available from Singapore-based eBay sellers.

This is primarily why this market has the second largest sales in Southeast Asia afterThailand,” said Oliver Hua, Chief Operating Officer, Greater China, Southeast Asia and Japan, eBayMarketplaces. “We foresee ePAC playing a vital role in driving Singapore’s online exports to theUnited States as demonstrated by a similar shipping service launched with China Post and the U.S.Postal Service in September 2010, which is already processing more than 90,000 parcels a day.”
