DPD has been successfully certified in several countries for its highly functional environmentalmanagement according to the international environmental norm ISO 14001.
Over the course of several months the German independent audit company TÜV SÜD checked theparcel operator’s environmental management processes and carried out numerous audits at DPDbranches. The certified environmental management system covers DPD in Germany, Austria, Belgium andLuxemburg.
DPD’s environmental management system is based on measurable environmental goals such as thereduction of energy consumption, emissions, residual waste and water consumption.
With the help of relevant figures, DPD continuously measures whether it successfully reaches itsenvironmental goals. The documentation and the measurement of key figures and the consistentimplementation of environmental policy are reviewed by TÜV SÜD on a regular basis. The currentcertification is initially valid for three years.
“Through a sophisticated and measurable environmental policy, we want to incorporate theresponsibility for our environment even more within the company,” said DPD CEO Arnold Schroven. “The ISO 14001 certification confirms that and represents our commitment for the future at the sametime.”
DPD Germany operates 4,000 parcel shops nationwide and employs 7,500 staff at 75 depots with afleet of 7,000 vehicles.
