Leading operators in the international parcel and postal industries including Swiss Post,trans-o-flex, Pos Malaysia and UPS made executive and senior managerial appointments in December
2011.Malaysian postal operator Pos Malaysia Bhd has appointed Datuk Khalid Abdol Rahman as its newCEO. Khalid previously served as a Director of Corporate Planning at DRB-HICOM Group, one ofMalaysia’s leading corporations, playing an integral role in the Automotive Manufacturing, Assemblyand Distribution industry, from June until November 2011. Khalid brings along more than 30 years ofexperience and business acumen in the Malaysian corporate arena. According to media reports, hewill be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction for Pos Malaysia’sfuture growth and development.
Swiss Post has named Pascal Koradi, currently CFO of the regional Neue Aargauer Bank AG andmember of its Executive Board, as CFO and member of Executive Management with effect from March2012. He will succeed Dr Markus Zenhäusern, who resigned from this role at the end of October forhealth reasons. In his current position, Koradi (39) is responsible for the financial management ofthe bank as a whole, and in particular for accounting, controlling, risk management, compliance,legal services, treasury and for central product management.
With his background and experience in developing and implementing the NAB corporate strategy,coupled with his knowledge of regulatory requirement, he fulfils all the requirements for the postof Financial Head of Swiss Post. “In Pascal Koradi, Swiss Post has engaged a young but provenfinancial practitioner possessing a strategic farsightedness, who shares the values of ourcompany,” said CEO Jürg Bucher.
In Germany, Oliver Rupps (48) has joined the trans-o-flex Logistics Group as Managing Directorand is responsible for operations and IT. He succeeds Wolfgang Weber who left the company at theend of 2011. Prior to his new appointment, he worked in various management positions in the fieldsof material procurement, logistics and corporate planning at Mercedes Benz AG and DaimlerChryslerAG. He subsequently served on the Management Board of the IT provider ilas AG, as Chairman of theBoard of Erwin Steinle Internationale Spedition GmbH & Co. KG and as Managing Director of theautomobile component supplier ixetic GmbH.
The trans-o-flex Board of Directors will continue to include Kai Schmuck (51) and Ulrich Schupp(45). The contract of Schmuck has recently been renewed. He will stay responsible for Marketing andSales. Schupp has been responsible as Managing Director Finance since April 2011.
In Chile, UPS has appointed Philippe Etchegaray Michaux as the new Commercial Manager. Hepreviously worked for Chilean state postal operator Correos de Chile. In his new position, Michauxwill be responsible for parcel, cargo and logistics operations of UPS Chile and also for developingand implementing strategies to strengthen the capacities UPS offers to companies and consumers inChile.
