Deutsche Post and the German postal union Ver.di have reached a partial agreement in the secondround of labour negotiations for 2012.
As the result of the deal, full-time employees contracted under the collective labour agreementwill get a gross lump sum of €400 with their monthly salary for January 2012 which will be takeninto account during further negotiations.
In addition, full-term employees with civil servant status will get a lump sum of €230. Thevariable payment for public servants does not apply in 2012. The agreements for the public servantsneed to be approved by the German Finance Ministry.
Based on the flexible model agreed in October for part-time work for older employees, DeuschePost and ver.di plan a comparable regulation for public servants and have started negotiations onthis issue.
The pay negotiations will be resumed on January 10, 2012.
