Deutsche Post DHL has extended the current contract and the mandate of the Group’s CEO FrankAppel by another five years and appointed Angela Titzrath as a new member of the Group’s Management
Board with responsibility for human resources.Appel has been a member of the Group’s Management Board since 2002 and was named CEO of DeutschePost DHL in February 2008. His contract has been extended until October 31, 2017.
Separately, Angela Titzrath will join Deutsche Post’s Management Board as Personnel and LabourDirector next year replacing Walter Scheurle who will retire at his own request after 12 years. Theexact date for the transition has not yet been finalised.
Her appointment comes against the background of a pledge by large German companies to appointmore women at management board level following general criticism of under-representation.
Titzrath (45) is currently a Board member of EvoBus GmbH, a subsidiary of Daimler AG, and thecompany’s Head of Marketing, Sales and Aftersales. She has held a number of executive positionswithin the Daimler Group for the last 20 years. Previously, she was Vice President ExecutiveManagement Development responsible implementing and managing all HR development programmes forDaimler’s top management and the staffing for the Daimler Group around the world.
