Austrian Post has extended a delivery contract with coffee retailer Nespresso and has launchednew convenient parcel pick-up boxes in selected residential areas.
Under the agreement with Nespresso, Austrian Post has been supplying club members withhigh-quality coffee products to business and private addresses since 2002. Austrian Post’stransition to CO2 neutral delivery of all domestic shipments also plays an important role forNespresso which is in line with its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint by 20% by 2013.
“As a premium provider, Nespresso also relies on the highest quality when it comes to logisticsand delivery to its customers. Therefore, it has again selected Austrian Post as its partner.Thanks to our high quality and efficiency in delivery to end-customers and business customers, weare a guarantor for further success of Nespresso in Austria,” said Peter Umumdum, the new head ofthe Parcels & Logistics division at Austrian Post.
Meanwhile, Austrian Post has launched a new parcel service in cooperation with the real estatecompany Raiffeisen evolution enabling customers to pick up their shipments from “intelligent parcelboxes”, the so called “Shop-Base”, so they do not have to wait at home for them.
Shop-Base is part of the housing projects “WOHN-BASE” founded by Raiffeisen in Vienna and Grazin 2006 according to specially developed residential concepts. It allows service providers andgrocery stores to deliver customer orders without the need for the buyer to be present and comes intime for the upcoming Christmas season when parcel volumes grow. Residents of “WOHN-BASE” can nowprofit from the service offering additional convenience and simplifying their daily life, AustrianPost said.
