DHL Checkout customers in Germany now have a wider choice of online payment options with theaddition of bank payment service giropay to the system.
DHL Checkout is an online shopping order processing solution that is integrated into the group’sGerman shopping portal Meinpaket.de and a number of other webshops. As a payment system withintegrated order processing, DHL Checkout enables secure one-stop online shopping for customers inGermany, from ordering and payment, to shipment tracking and delivery via DHL Parcel Germany. Ithas so far offered payment methods such as direct debit or credit card payment.
Used by over 1,500 banks throughout Germany, giropay offers high levels of secure onlinepayment. Shoppers who select to pay by giropay on a participating website are transferred to theirown online banking account where an online payment transfer is automatically generated showing allrelevant purchase details. The customer then makes a normal online transfer and the retailerreceives a payment guarantee via the giropay system.
