Yodel launches new international delivery services under Yodel World brand

The UK’s largest private parcels group, Yodel, has launched a new international productportfolio, featuring four different delivery services.

Under the brand Yodel World, the new services are designed to meet specific requirements forparcels of various weights, shapes and sizes, the company said. They are provided in cooperationwith Yodel’s partners, including UK-based logistics specialist KMUK Universal Solutions, Belgium’sbpost International and the international parcel unit of TNT Post.

Yodel said this cooperation made it possible to leverage local knowledge and resources “makingoverseas delivery as simple as sending a parcel down the road”.

One of the four services is Yodel World Mail, which provides delivery for packages under 2kg toanywhere in the world within 14 days via its partner KMUK, marketed as a cost-effective option fornon-urgent items with lower value.

Another service for packages up to 2 kg is Yodel World Pack, operated jointly with bpostinternational. It allows users to track their parcels at any time during the delivery process, andis marketed to customers as a convenient and economical way to send lighter items that requiretracking.

Also in partnership with bpost international, Yodel World Parcel provides delivery for largerparcels weighing up to 30 kg including a delivery confirmation.

For e-commerce consumer deliveries throughout the EU, Yodel Euro Express Home offers, incooperation with the international parcel unit of TNT Post, a service including full tracking,insurance and proof of delivery for parcels up to 30 kg, and a single flat rate for eachdestination.

Yodel CEO Jonathan Smith said: “This move takes Yodel into a new, global market, expanding ourportfolio to meet our clients’ and their customers’ demands. Yodel World allows us to provide anefficient and tailored international delivery service that utilises unrivalled deliveryresources.”

Yodel was formed last year after the UK’s largest B2C parcels operator, HomeDelivery Network Limited (HDNL), purchased, through its subsidiary company Parcelpoint, thedomestic B2B and B2C businesses of DHL Express (UK), almost doubling the size of the former HDNLbusiness and turning it into a £600 million turnover operation. As part of the deal, around 4,700people, five hubs, and 71 service centres moved over from DHL.
