Hermes UK increases sales and profits and expects further growth

Hermes UK has increased its sales and profits for the financial year 2010/11, thanks toextensive investment in systems and operational innovation, and expects further growth for the year

2011/12.

In 2010/11, the company saw its sales rising by 6% to £211.5 million (€246.26 million), with anincreased profit of £17.5m (€17.5 million).

During the current financial year, Hermes has already won a number of new clients and expectssales to increase further by 20%.

Carole Woodhead, Hermes UK CEO, said: “Throughout these challenging economic times, Hermes hascontinued to buck the trend and has invested wisely in the right technology and people to supportnew services that retailers and their customers want. As a result our new business pipeline remainsrobust.”

Hermes is the UK’s largest home delivery courier network, handling more than 115 millioncollections and deliveries per year. It works with companies of all sizes, and in recent years hasdiversified from agency catalogue brands to work with leading ‘high street’, direct catalogue andonline retailers in the UK, including Next Directory, Reader’s Digest, Lakeland Limited andASOS.

Within the UK, Hermes operates a network of over 7,500 lifestyle couriers that provide doorstep delivery. The company’s delivery solutions include next-day delivery, parcel returns, SMSmessaging and real-time-management information.
