USPS scoops UPU award for express mail service

USPS has been recognised for its outstanding Express Mail Service with a 2010 Silver Award bythe Universal Postal Union (UPU).

The US postal operator was rated in five categories including on-time delivery and customerservice response time.

USPS is also showing outstanding growth in revenues from its international products, in additionto excellent customer service in international express mail. According to Giselle Valera, vicepresident, Global Business, USPS, the company’s revenues from international mailing and shippingproducts increased by 12.3% year-on-year in the first three quarters of the 2011 fiscal year.

USPS generates annual revenues of some $2.5 billion from international shipping of mail andparcels showing strong growth compared to $1.5 billion in 2005.

“It’s wonderful to be recognised by the UPU for our efforts, and it’s wonderful to be recognisedby consumers and businesses who are increasingly using the Postal Service for their internationalmailing and shipping needs,” Valera said.
