Terry De Havilland, the British high fashion shoe designer, has outsourced its logistics operationfor the first time by awarding DHL a 12-month contract for its recently launched ready-to-wear
product line.Renowned for heeling super models and A list celebrities, Terry De Havilland has been aprolific icon in designer footwear for the past 50 years, and continues to influence high streettrends with its new range. Famous customers have included fashion designers Zandra Rhodes andVivienne Westwood, rock stars such as Led Zeppelin, Marianne Faithfull and Amy Winehouse, andmodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
Terry De Havilland’s recent growth led to the decision to outsource its logistics for thefirst time, allowing the brand to focus on its core business. In the process, Terry De Havilland’scustomers will benefit from increased service levels and improved product availability, DHL said.
The DHL Supply Chain, Express and Freight divisions will work together to provide a tailoredsolution fulfilling the transportation, storage and delivery of Terry De Havilland’s designerfootwear. Shoes will be collected from point of manufacture in Spain and delivered directly aroundthe world to consumers purchasing online, as well as to selected retail outlets where the shoes arestocked, or to DHL Supply Chain’s facility in Barking, London for onward distribution within theUK.
