Hermes Germany offers Profi parcel service for retailers with small parcel volumes

Hermes has made available its web-based Profi parcel service (German: ProfiPaketService) toonline retailers who only ship small annual parcel volumes to customers.


 
Via the website profitpaketservice.de, webshops or e-retailers can handle their completeshipping process online. The Profi Parcel service offers prices for all Hermes parcel sizes and avariable price structure according to the required service.

Hermes said customers using the service would profit from faster, more independent onlineintegration in the Hermes systems. Other benefits that users with small volumes can benefit frominclude insurance coverage for each shipment up to €500, delivery of COD shipments and up to fourdelivery attempts. The delivery can be effected to over 20 countries of the European Union and toSwitzerland and Liechtenstein.
 
Frank Iden, Director Marketing and Sales at Hermes Germany, explained: “With the opening ofthe portal, online retailers with low shipping volumes can also professionalise the dispatch oftheir goods and thus keep up with the services of their big competitors.”
 
He said around 77% of small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany are not yet using theinternet as a distribution channel, which offers enormous growth potential for parcel operators asmore and more SMEs will become active in e-commerce in the future.

“In particular, the number of online retailers with small shipping volumes is continuouslyincreasing. We want to take part in this development and adjust our products and servicesaccordingly to the needs of this target group,” Iden added.
