DHL Express Russia has signed a partnership with one of the largest book stores in Moscow todeliver the books ordered via the internet by online shoppers.
As part of the agreement with the book store Moskva, DHL will delivers the purchases in 3-5days, covering 340 locations across Russia. Customers can request door-to-door delivery orcollect the parcel from their nearest DHL Express service point.
With the rapid growth of e-commerce, DHL said it has been developing and implementingeffective logistics solutions to support this new and dynamic industry for several years, and workswith a large number of major national internet retailers in Russia for the delivery of theirorders.
Because a large proportion of internet shoppers in Russia prefer to pay for their orders upondelivery, DHL is able to accept payment upon delivery and transfer the money to the retailer. Inaddition, the system developed by DHL allows to fully automate the ordering process and shipmentmonitoring both for DHL and customers, thus minimising the error potential during delivery.
“Delivery of customer orders is one of the key success factors in the field of e-commerce.The consignee is interested in receiving his goods within the promised time, and, in particular, the speed of processing – from placing the order on the internet shop’s site to the handover to theend customer – defines the service quality and has a direct impact on the customer’s loyalty to aparticular shop,” DHL Russia explained.
DHL claimed that this was the reason for the level of demand for the company‘s domesticexpress services – 60% of the cargo it ships across Russia is delivered on the next working day, anoption available available to over 90 cities in Russia.
