DHL Express UK delivered the final installment of the Harry Potter movie on time and under strictsecurity to cinemas across the country for the much-anticipated opening of the film in the UK last
Friday.As one of the year’s biggest film releases, “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2”arrived at big screens all over the UK last week, with DHL Express ensuring the nationwide deliveryof the film in 24 hours. The company used more than 100 couriers to deliver copies to 600 cinemasin the UK and Ireland, using aircraft, lorries, vans and ferries.
DHL said requests for the film have been incredible, with cinemas in every corner of the UKordering reels, making it one of the largest distributions for its cinema division to date.
Robert Maltby, General Manager of DHL’s cinema division, said: “We’re delighted to haveplayed our part in the final piece of the Harry Potter franchise, and been responsible for managingthe secure distribution of one of the biggest films of the year. The films remained within ourglobal network regardless of where they needed to be shipped, and were subject to the same strictsecurity procedures throughout the entirety of their journey.”
Warner Brothers commented: “One of our biggest concerns is ensuring that the distribution ofour film reels remain highly secured at all times. DHL was picked to distribute them on the basisof our past relationship with them and their experience in ensuring the reels were deliveredsafely, to a tight timescale.”
