GLS Denmark is expanding its European coverage with new delivery services to Greenland, Icelandand the Faroe Islands.
Denmark is the most important trading partners for Greenland and the Faroe Islands and one ofthe major partners for Iceland. The importance of the import business for the island makes themattractive for exporters, GLS explained.
“By expanding our dense European network in North Atlantic, we offer also to this region thehigh quality that our customers are used to,” said Karsten Klitmøller, General Manager, GLSDenmark.
As Denmark’s second largest parcel operator, GLS is cooperating with strong regional partners tooperate the new delivery services. In Greenland, the national postal operator TELE-POST effectsdelivery of GLS parcels. Its nationwide network covers all the major cities as well the smallestremote areas of the country. On the Faroe Islands, Faroe Express provides parcel delivery while thefreight forwarder TVG-Zimsen is operating across Iceland as the subsidiary of Faroe Express and amember of FIATA.
“The additional connections in the North Atlantic that we have established including service forour customers, strengthen our network,” Klitmøller added. The GLS European network now covers 42states where the company serves its customers through wholly-owned subsidiaries and partners.
