TNT Express France finalises B2C partnership with Adrexo Colis

TNT Express France has finalised its operational and commercial partnership with Adrexo Colis,the leading private parcel operator for home delivery within France, following the memorandum of

understanding signed in December last year.

With this agreement to come into force in June this year, the two parties aim to strengthentheir respective service offerings in the French market for B2C deliveries, which is being stronglydriven by e-commerce growth.

Adrexo Colis, which is the B2C standard parcels subsidiary of the French publishing company SpirCommunication, will entrust TNT France with parcel deliveries to areas where it does not operate.This way, Adrexo will be able to offer its services on a larger scale in geographical termsprofiting from the density and performance of TNT’s network in France with 120 sites and 620scheduled road connections.

On the commercial level, TNT will market Adrexo Colis’ services among its customers whilebenefiting from its know-how in home delivery for individuals within 48-72 hours.

François Baret, the head of TNT Express France, said: “There is a real demand from individualsand therefore e-tailers for home delivery within 48-72 hours. The agreement signed with AdrexoColis will allow us to offer an additional service to our express delivery within 24 hours.”

Frederic Pons, Adrexo Colis CEO, commented: “This partnership allows us to take a further stepin developing Adrexo Colis. The network of TNT Express will strengthen the services we offer to ourcustomers with a competitive solution and a higher quality throughout the French territory.”

According to the Frence e-commerce association Fevad, more than 27.3 million of French citizensshopped via the internet in 2010 which equals a year-on-year increase of 12%. In total, €31 billionwas spent online last year surpassing the previous figure by 24%. The number of websites of activeonline traders increased by 28% to 82,000. Meanwhile, 87% of internet users in France choose homedelivery to ship their online purchases, Fevad revealed.
