Hermes has aligned for the first time the services of its national and internationalsubsidiaries on a new common website under
www.hermesworld.com.Martin Kreiter, head of marketing at Hermes Europe, explained: “We faced the challenge ofdeveloping a common brand identity for nine organisations, each of which had their own corporateidentity on the market.”
With its specialised group companies, Hermes is a full-range provider of all services requiredby distance sellers. It claims to be the only company worldwide offering its business customersintegrated solutions along the overall value added chain in trade, for example when it comes toproduct purchasing and delivery.
The new website provides the user with an intuitive page structure that graphically depicts allthe group’s services and products. To adapt hermesworld.com to the various requirements of Europeanmarkets, country versions have been created for Germany, Austria and the UK with others tofollow.
The new web presence is a product of 12 months work, with support from the Hamburg-basedcommunication agency Superreal. “We have witnessed a worldwide increase in demand for one-stopservice provision – from product supply in Asia by sea and airfreight, quality control andwarehousing through to home deliveries throughout Europe. We are looking to win over both existingand potential clients for as many of our services as possible and have aligned our brandcommunication accordingly,” Kreiter said.
Following the rebranding, Hermes has also launched an umbrella brand campaign for the first timedeveloping a new common design that unifies all Hermes companies. Six ad motifs highlight thediversity of Hermes services and will be placed in appropriate business journals in May. Inaddition, they will also be displayed at major German airports in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich andat Hong Kong airport, one of the group’s most important locations in Asia. “By focusing on thisairport environment, we are looking to bring our services to the attention of business travellers,”Kreiter added.
