FedEx supports healthcare industry with new packaging and delivery models

FedEx Express has expanded its product portfolio for the healthcare industry across Europe, theMiddle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa (EMEA) with innovative solutions for

temperature-controlled delivery, including cutting-edge packaging solutions and advanceddistribution models.

FedEx said it wants to help companies profit from the opportunities arising from globalisationand outsourcing and cope with challenges of freight management as they expand their operations tonew regions worldwide.

The pharmaceutical industry is increasingly shifting its locations from established markets tonew emerging markets as the need for temperature controlled solutions is growing rapidly, FedExExpress said in a statement.

The FedEx range of temperature controlled shipping solutions includes one of the largest dry iceresources in the world, with re-icing possible at major hubs and ramps in the EMEA region.Temperature controlled solutions are further complemented by FedEx thermally mapped vehicles andaircrafts.

FedEx Express additionally offers a wide range of temperature controlled packaging solutionsfrom cold to room temperature. This packaging is available both for parcels and airfreight usingtraditional dry ice capabilities as well as innovative greener technologies for cold chainsolutions.

The company also leverages the knowledge and services across the FedEx Corporation by workinghand-in-hand with FedEx Custom Critical, a FedEx subsidiary specialised in delivery oftemperature-sensitive shipments.
