Hermes Germany networks with XING business platform

Hermes Germany is now represented on the business platform XING as the only parcel operatorafter a successful test phase.

With this online advertising campaign, Hermes said it is targeting both private and businesscustomers for the first time.

Hermes tested last year whether it could reach its core target groups via XING as part of aChristmas lottery. References and evaluations are carried out with XING users via a newslettersurvey provided a sound basis.

Stefan Harms, Director of Marketing Communications at Hermes Logistics Group Germany, said: “Theresults speak for themselves: both brand awareness and advertising recall could be increasedsignificantly. Over 100,000 persons took part in the lottery and dealt extensively with Hermes.”& amp; amp; amp; amp; amp; lt; /p>

With its presence on Germany’s largest network of business decision-makers, Hermes aims toincrease the awareness but also the knowledge about its service range in its target group.

Stefan Schumacher, Head of Business Marketing at Hermes Germany, commented: “Our market researchclearly shows that we reach potential business clients via XING very well. Online channels haveimmense significance for us. Around 60% of sales in distance trade are now generated online.”

Hermes is used in diverse communication channels of the XING platform. In future, it will berepresented with Confirmation Ads that appear after basic members have sent out a message. Inaddition, various eye-catching promotions are planned which will be advertised both on the XINGhome page and in newsletters including banners and a micro site. From 1 May onwards, Hermes is alsorepresented on the platform with its company profile and subscribers can sign up for updates aboutits services.

Meanwhile, Hermes said its environmental logo WE DO! is being increasingly used with businesscustomers such as the fashion retailer bonprix which use the word-image label to designate theparcels it ships via Hermes to end customers as environmentally friendly.

Frank Iden, managing director marketing and sales at Hermes Germany, said: “Especially in viewof the e-commerce boom, the logistics industry needs to organise the increasing shipping volumes ina sustainable way. We are therefore delighted that bonprix is taking part in our WE DO! initiative.“

Hermes has been successfully cooperating with bonprix, which is one of the ten largest retailersin Germany, for 15 years with around 20 million shipments delivered via Hermes to bonprix customerslast year.

“We increased our shipping volumes handled via Hermes by around two million shipments comparedto the previous year,” Kai Heck, managing director Finance & Operations, bon prix, said.
