UPS expands Asian leadership team

UPS has broadened its top management team in Asia with four appointments to gear up for furthergrowth in the region.



Craig Foster has been appointed senior vice president of Supply Chain and HealthcareLogistics, Asia Pacific Region. KK Leung has been named president, UPS South District, William Nghas been named managing director of UPS Hong Kong and Macau, and Anita Li has been appointed themanaging director of UPS Taiwan.

In his new role, Foster will be responsible for UPS’s supply chain solutions, distributionand overall healthcare initiatives in the region. UPS recently announced plans for its first Asiandedicated healthcare facility in Singapore to accompany and connect UPS’s worldwide healthcarepresence.

“Driven by expanding relationships with healthcare companies and a growing trend towardsoutsourcing, UPS is seeing an increased demand from healthcare manufacturers wanting more agilesupply chain solutions worldwide,” said Derek Woodward, president of the UPS Asia Pacific Region.

“This is an exciting time for the company. We are delighted that Craig accepted the challengeand is on board to drive the supply chain and healthcare logistics business in the region in thisnew role.”

With six years of experience in the management of the logistics business in Asia Pacific and33 years of experience in logistics management, Foster will work hand-in-hand with UPS’s supplychain and healthcare customers in the region to monitor their demands and develop solutions fortheir fast-evolving needs.

Foster assumes his new role after heading up the UPS South District, Asia Pacific Region, fortwo years where he was responsible for UPS package and supply chain operations in 29 countries,including the fast-growing markets of India and Vietnam. Prior to that, he was the vice presidentfor supply chain operations of UPS South District and up to 2009, he was the vice president forcontract logistics at UPS Asia Pacific Region.

Along with Foster’s appointment, UPS announced the promotion of Leung as president, UPS SouthDistrict, Asia Pacific Region. Leung most recently worked as managing director of UPS Hong Kong andMacau. He joined UPS Hong Kong in 1990 and has since held a variety of positions with the companyincluding general manager of operations of UPS Taiwan in 1999 and area director of UPS East Chinain 2000.

Most notably, Leung directed the Asia launch of the Delivery Information Acquisition Device(DIAD), UPS’s revolutionary handheld computer; the opening of the state-of-the-art Express Centreat the Hong Kong international airport; the establishment of UPS’s trans-Pacific hub in Taiwan, andthe development of UPS’s business in East China. He has 21 years of experience in the aviation andtransportation industry.

Ng, the new managing director of UPS Hong Kong and Macau, was formerly the managing directorof UPS Taiwan. Li was the senior hub manager at UPS Hong Kong.
