British parcels delivery firm Yodel has been chosen by Hughes Electrical for delivery of all of itsonline sales across the UK.
Hughes Electrical, voted by which? magazine readers in 2010 as having the second bestelectrical website (www.hughesdirect.co.uk), is one of Britain’s fastest growing B2B suppliers andthe fourth largest specialist electrical supplier.
Yodel said it was selected by the company to deliver items, from small sized personal digitalgoods to large kitchen appliances, to its nationwide customer base. Yodel will carry 125,000deliveries each year for Hughes.
Hughes Electrical was particularly attracted to Yodel’s two-man delivery service. As well asdelivering large items, two Yodel drivers will assemble and connect appliances to power and watersupplies.

Yodel is the second-largest parcel delivery business in the UK after Royal Mail and deliversmore than 200 million parcels per year with annual revenues of £600 million. It operates from anational network of hubs and service centres and has a fleet of 5,000 vans. Formerly known as HomeDelivery Network Ltd, the company purchased the domestic B2B and B2C businesses of DHL Express (UK)Ltd on 1 March 2010.
