DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo fly relief supplies to Japan

AeroLogic flies aid to Japan

DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo have flown 30 tonnes of relief goods from Hungary, Slovakia andSweden to Japan in a donation to support the European Commission’s assistance to the

catastrophe-hit country.

The flight to Tokyo, which was performed by the companies’ joint air cargo subsidiaryAeroLogic, departed Frankfurt airport on Monday and arrived in Tokyo this morning (Wednesday). DHLis currently delivering the goods directly to the final destinations.

The aircraft carried 30 tonnes of goods from Hungary, Slovakia and Sweden, including cannedfood, tents, blankets, sleeping bags, clothes, gloves and rubber boots. The supplies aredesperately needed in the affected prefectures in Japan and are highly welcomed by the Japaneseauthorities.

By adjusting our flightschedules and with the strongest support of everyone involved we gladly took the opportunity todeliver fast help directly to one of the areas that were impacted most by the tsunami.”
