Deutsche Post acquires German online advertising firm

Deutsche Post has taken over Adcloud GmbH, a German specialist provider of performance marketingsolutions for the online advertising market, to expand its service range in this growing

sector.

The acquisition strengthens the company’s position as a neutral provider of efficientplacing and marketing of online advertising.

Jürgen Gerdes, head of Deutsche Post’s mail and parcel business, commented: “The acquisitionof Adcloud is for us after the acquisition of Europe’s leading targeting platform nugg.ad anotherimportant strategic step towards becoming a strong service provider in the promising market ofonline advertising.”

Adcloud provides an innovative and very successful product offering considerably simplifyingprocesses related to the control of online advertising campaigns and providing more transparency.

Adcloud will operate as a subsidiary of Deutsche Post with the existing management teamremaining independent. Henning Lange, Managing Director of Adcloud, said: “Together with DeutschePost, we can push on our vision of an open, neutral marketplace for the optimised exchange ofonline advertising and billboards in digital media.”

Adcloud helps agencies and marketers to expand their advertising business. Its customers getaccess to a flexible technology platform including an open and transparent marketplace for theexchange of online advertising. Participants can simply buy and sell advertising space whilemaintaining at all times full control over it and their campaigns. This optimisation makes itpossible to use budgets more efficiently not only for the agencies but also for the marketers toattain higher average returns.

Performance Marketing is a performance-based billing of advertising media such as cost perclick, cost per lead or cost per order. Advertisers and agencies thus have a greater control ofsuccess and can use their budgets more efficiently while further increasing the return oninvestment (ROI) of their advertising measures. Adcloud offers customers fair pricing and thedesired market transparency, Deutsche Post said.

Adcloud’s customers include well-known agencies and leading marketers as well as qualitywebsites. The company serves customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.

Launched in 2009, Adcloud is based in Cologne and employs 20 people.
