Eurodis, the European logistics network of Austrian Post/trans-o-flex, showed strong,double-digit growth in shipping volumes in 2010 and integrated new shareholders with the aim to
maintain the high growth rate this year as well.Last year, the leading European distribution network for combined freight including pallets andparcels moved 25% more shipments than in 2009.
Carsten Siebe, managing director of the network, based in Weinheim, southern Germany, commented:“For 2011, similar growth is planned. This makes Eurodis one of the fastest growing transportationnetworks in the industry.”
Siebe pointed out the three main growth drivers of Eurodis. “We implemented a new powerfulshareholder structure in 2010, established a new IT platform and gained strong cooperationpartners.”
The new partners – Sernam for France and UK Mail for Great Britain and Ireland – officiallyjoined Eurodis in June 2010 and were successfully integrated into the international network inOctober.
“Along with our dynamic development, we updated the existing Eurodis logo and established acentral website for the first time,“ Siebe explained. Until now, Eurodis has presented itselfonline through information on the website of its members. “Since the power of a network is theresult of the sum of the individual partners, a central website that displays all partners and allservices makes sense,” he said. The new website www.eurodis.com went online last Friday.
Eurodis now covers 34 European countries. All partners are able to transport shipments rangingfrom 1 kg parcels to 800 kg pallets in a fast, efficient and safe way. In addition, numerousregional services such as pick-up orders, cash-on-delivery or hazardous goods are offered to abroad range of destinations.
