Team C Express Logistics celebrates 1 million online bookings with NetDespatch

Team C praises Netdespatch solution

British express firm Team C Express Logistics has shipped its millionth consignment using theNetDespatch Velocity real-time web booking and tracking solution.

Since integrating NetDespatch as its dedicated online booking system in 2007, the Norfolk-basedfirm, part of the APC Overnight parcels network, has achieved this record level of online businessin just four years.

“We are very pleased to pass the one million booking milestone and it demonstrates that ourbusiness is growing, despite the economy. The NetDespatch system is very important to us and nowplays a key part in our operation. The online booking and tracking, with real-time proof ofdelivery, and automated label printing provided by NetDespatch is now an integral part of ourservice. Our operation would not be as successful without the web-based system,” said Scott Gaine,Business Development Manager, Team C.

In February 2010, Team C extended its services to include an overnight pallet service byjoining the Fortec pallet network, owned by the French logistics giant Geodis. Team C found thatthe NetDespatch systems were so flexible it was also able to use them to accommodate palletshipping and tracking through Fortec’s online systems. Now Team C customers have an automated andfully integrated method of booking collections for either parcels or pallets using a singlemultifunctional system.

“With NetDespatch support, we offer our customers an easy way to book collections, whetherthey need to ship a parcel overnight or if they need to send larger items by pallet. All that isrequired is to select either parcel or pallet and the system generates the shipping codes. Thesystem is fully automatic, with parcel codes going direct to the APC Overnight operating system andpallet codes transferring seamlessly to Fortec. The appropriate labels are printed automaticallytoo,” Gaine added.

Team C’s customers cover all market sectors. Mail order and manufacturing companies make upthe largest groups of clients. Some online companies have integrated their shopping cart systemsdirectly to the online booking and tracking system using another NetDespatch product calledVelocity Connector.

This cuts out the need to transfer data manually from the online store system and enablesautomatic import of collections and despatches and bar code label printing at any location. Thisintegration solution eliminates duplicated work and errors, saving customers time and money.

In 2010, Team C won the 2010 APC Overnight Depot of the Year and Regional Depot of the YearAwards, which is voted for by the rest of the 130 depots located around the country. This is thebiggest competition of its kind in the UK and recognises “above and beyond” service performancethroughout the past year.
