FedEx Express improves service with new B757 flight from Munich to Paris

FedEx Express has improved its service in Bavaria, southern Germany, and western Austria withthe launch of a new flight on the route between Munich and Paris using a B757 freighter.

Through the new flight that started operating at the end of February, customers living in themetropolitan areas of Munich and Nuremberg in southern Germany can profit from later pick-up timesof up to one hour for shipments weighing up to 68 kg destined to Europe or Asia.
 
In addition, transit times for heavyweight shipments destined for Europe or Asia weighing upto 1,000 kg are reduced by one to two business days while certain imported shipments from Europe orAsia weighing between 68 and 1,000 kg are delivered to the Munich area within one business day.

With the B757 flight, FedEx is also increasing its capacity for shipments from Bavaria andwestern Austria. The aircraft flies four times a week from Munich to the FedEx hub in Paris, whichoperates as the European hub linked to the company’s worldwide network.

Since February, a B757 freighter has also started operating on the Munich – Cologne route, whichhas been served to date with an Airbus A310 freighter.

Export-heavy industries such as vehicle manufacturing, engineering, and electro technologyhelp companies in the Munich and Nuremberg regions gain significant competitive advantages ininternational business.”

This latest flight is part of the continuous modernisation of the FedEx fleet. In comparison tothe A310, the B757 reduces both noise pollution and CO2 emissions by one third, the companyadded.
