UPS Germany has signed a leasing contract with the logistics real estate developer Gazeley forwarehouse and office space to store and distribute promotional items for Merck Pharma.
The 3,200 sqm area is located in the Magna Park Rhein-Main, about 45 km north of Frankfurt,central Germany. The property offers potential to develop a further 200,000 sqm of logistics spacewithin a short period of time.
UPS stressed that there is an increasing need for modern logistics areas, especially inindustrial urban areas.
Michael Gerke, Development Director of Gazeley Germany, said: “For UPS, it was essential to beable to lease modern space with good transport connections and flexible divisions. The Magna Parkoffers both as the areas fulfil all the requirement of state-of-the-art real estate.”
In November last year, the logistics service provider LGI leased an area of around 7,500 sqm inthe same building to set up a regional distribution centre for Bosch thermal technology.
Gazeley, a subsidiary of Group Economic Zones World (EZW), is a leading provider of sustainablelogistics space in Europe, China and the Middle East. Since 1987, the company has developed about6.4 million sqm of distribution space and logistics parks.
