TNT Express opens new air hub in Dubai

TNT Express has opened its new air cargo handling facility at Dubai International Airportto offer customers faster transit times, cost benefits and greater control over their

shipments.

The new 2,500 sqm hub will allow TNT to process additional cargo volumes with the benefit ofclose on site cooperation with both Dubai Police and Customs authorities.

TNT said the new facility is part of its expansion n the Middle East, centred from its regionalheadquarters in Dubai.

Bryan Moulds, Regional Managing Director for TNT Middle East, said: “TNT’s volumes on ourfreight network between Europe and the UAE have grown by over 30% in 2010 and the timing ofexpanding the hub was to allow us to further support and accelerate volume growth.”

“This is a complementary step in enhancing our connectivity in the Middle East, alongsideinvestment in enhanced handling facilities in Dubai, Jebel Ali and our Middle East Road Network,”he added.

Recently, TNT Express started operating a B767 freighter with a daily connection between Dubaiand its air hub in Europe. The service carries up to 50 tonnes of cargo per flight.
