TNT Innight, TNT’s European overnight express business, has signed a contract renewal withJungheinrich, the third largest provider of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment
worldwide, following an open tender.Thomas Bauer, country general manager of TNT Innight Austria, explained: “We have been workingwith Jungheinrich for about 15 years in the field of after-sales service, and have grown togetherin Austria, and also in Germany and other countries. During this time, we have tailored our servicein an optimal way to the needs of our customer.”
Since 1995, TNT Innight has been delivering spare parts for Jungheinrich in Europe, while alsoproviding returns management, with the cooperation producing a vital, rapid response for thecustomer. Service technicians order the urgently required spare parts by late afternoon, which aredelivered the following morning before 7 am, with a delivery option before 6 am. “With thisservice, the technicians can drive directly to the customer in the early morning and don’t have toworry about the organisation of the spare parts,” Bauer added.
Andreas Ausweger, director for technical services at Jungheinrich, commented: “This time gain isan important competitive advantage for us because we can fulfil the needs of our customers fasterand more efficiently this way. In this regard, the high quality of the services, also in the fieldof IT solutions along with the European focus of TNT Innight, play an important role. TNT Innight employs about 950 staff in Germany and has a nationwide distribution network of 23branches. With a fleet of 1,600 vehicles operating for TNT Innight in Germany, the overnightexpress provider delivered more than 14 million shipments across Germany in 2010. TNT InnightAustria employs 45 people, handling more than 600,000 shipments annually. The European network ofTNT Innight Group comprises Germany, Austria, Benelux, Denmark, Slovakia, Hungary and CzechRepublic.
