Canada Post launches free application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Canada Post has launched a free application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that will providecustomers with convenient and easy access to two of the most popular web tools at Canada Post, ‘

Track a Package’ and ‘Find a Post Office’.

The new application, which is now available for download at the iTunes App Store, enablescustomers to track their packages and find nearby post offices, either by typing in an address orby using the GPS feature of their devices.

Track a Package and Find a Post Office are two of the most frequently used tools on Canada Post’s website with a combined monthly average of more than 4.25 million uses.

Louis O’Brien, Senior Vice-President and Chief Customer Officer at Canada Post, commented: “Ourcustomers are on the go, and we aim to provide them with convenient, easy access to our productsand services by keeping abreast of current trends and new technologies. We have seen an increase inthe use of mobile devices to access our website, and we expect demand for mobile-enabled servicesto continue to grow.”

“We’re pleased to be able to launch this application just in time for the holidays as this isthe busiest time of year for many of our customers,” he added.

Also in time for the holidays, Canada Post makes it possible for customers with busy schedulesto ship their packages until December 23 with Priority Next A.M. service.

Marvin Rosenzweig, Senior Vice-President, Parcels at Canada Post, commented: “Over 40 percent ofCanadians will ship an average of three gifts to their loved ones during the holiday season. Ournetwork is the largest in Canada and we offer secure shipping solutions meant to fit everyone’sbudget and timelines.”

In light of recent air transportation security measures in Canada and internationally, CanadaPost is also advising Canadians sending letters, parcels or packets to the U.S. and otherinternational destinations to do so as soon as possible to ensure their mail arrives on time forthe holidays. Canada Post and its partners and suppliers are continuously taking steps to ensureon-time delivery.
