Yodel, the UK’s second-largest parcel delivery business, has secured a major new contract withArena Flowers, making it the retailer’s sole UK parcel carrier.
The deal is expected to involve the delivery more than 170,000 flowers a year on behalf of theonline specialist retailer, using Yodel’s ‘24-hour’ and ‘Saturday Service’ options.
Will Wynne, managing director of Arena Flowers, said: “We have been working with Yodel sinceFebruary for all of our deliveries outside of London and are pleased to announce that they are nowour sole delivery company. Yodel is the only large UK courier to offer deliveries on Mother’s Day,and their dedicated flower sortation system ensures our flowers arrive in prime condition.
“We are delighted with the service, which also offers a number of unique delivery options, suchas ‘Avoid the School Run’,” he added.
Jonathan Smith, chief executive of Yodel, said the important contract was testament to theorganisation’s focus, service levels and unique products.
Yodel is the new name for Home Delivery Network, following its acquisition in March, via itsParcelpoint subsidiary, of the domestic B2B and B2C businesses of DHL Express (UK).
Yodel expects to deliver more than 200 million parcels per year, with annual revenues of £600million, making it the second-largest parcel delivery business in the UK, after Royal Mail.Headquartered in Hatfield, it operates eight national hubs, 120 service centres and a fleet of5,000 vans.
