TNT Post wins Otto Group parcel contract in the Netherlands

TNT Post has won a major contract to deliver up to four million e-commerce parcels a year in theNetherlands for Otto Group companies.

TNT Post Parcel Service has signed a three-year contract for home delivery of household goods orfashion articles ordered on the websites of Otto, Bonprix and Heine. The contract, the value ofwhich was not disclosed, goes into effect on January 1, 2011. 

Delivery is a central factor in the growing home shopping market, TNT Post said. The ParcelService’s customer service in terms of products and services and its extensive geographicalcoverage were decisive in winning the Otto Group contract, it stated.

A delighted Gerrit Mastenbroek, TNT Post Parcel Service director, commented: “If a reputableorganisation like the Otto Group decides to work with you, then that is recognition of the qualitythat we provide every day in services to our customers.”

TNT Post delivers about 15 million postal items a day, including 400,000 parcels, to morethan 7.6 million addresses in the Netherlands. The company employs some 58,000 people in theNetherlands.
