TNT Express has extended its road network in Brazil this month with the opening of a new depotin the north-eastern state of Bahia.
The company has opened a new terminal in the city of Feira de Santana, which is located about120km inland from the state capital of Salvador. The city, with a population of some 700,000, is astrategic crossroads on north-south and east-west routes in the north-east region of Brazil.
The depot comprises a 2,700 sqm facility with 50 truck docking doors, and has capacity to handleup to 2,500 tonnes a month.
TNT Express Brazil said that Feira de Santana is a strategic market for the company, withimportant flows for other cities where TNT has terminals, such as Campinas, Belo Horizonte,Vitória, Goiânia, Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Maceió and Aracaju.
