TNT targets Brazilian exports with International Freight service

TNT Express has launched a new International Freight service to target exports from Brazil andprofit from the country’s economic boom.

The service will be initially available in the state of São Paulo, offering transportation fromthe airports of Viracopos and Cumbica to Europe, China and the USA.

TNT Express Brazil said it will transport different types of high-value freight such ashigh-tech goods and pharmaceuticals. Customers will benefit from typical express product featuressuch as tracking, guarantees and punctuality. A dedicated department has been set up to handle thenew International Freight service.

The company has contracted capacity on a number of commercial airlines from Brazil for theservice, a spokeswoman confirmed to CEP-Research. These include TAM Cargo, where TNT has grown intothe airline’s fifth-largest air cargo agent. Own capacity is used in parts of Europe and Asia forthe service.

Ricardo Gelain, marketing director for TNT Express Brazil, said: “TNT has been active in thetransport of heavy freight worldwide for 20 years. Brazil could not be kept out of this network,especially at a time when the economy is booming. Our aim is to accompany the individual needs ofour clients and to facilitate foreign trade, both for exports and imports.”

To support the service within Brazil, TNT has a network of 130 branches, a fleet of 2,500 trucksand more than 8,500 staff.
