FedEx supports SOS Children’s Villages International in Germany

FedEx supports SOS Kinderdorf Germany

FedEx has financially supported SOS Children’s Villages International in Germany with a donationof $90,000 for a new home economics area at the Hof Bockum site, south of Hamburg.

The newly inaugurated area was necessary due to the rising number of residents and workers inthe institution as the previous kitchen and canteen did not provide enough space.

The SOS village community Hof Bockum is an institution for social and professional integrationof adults with disabilities. Last year, FedEx already donated $90,000 to the site for constructionpurposes. FedEx Express Germany has been supporting SOS Children’s Villages since 2005 donating atotal of $390,000 to the organisation.

“We are glad that SOS Hof Bockum has inaugurated another important and successful constructionproject that we could support,” said Bernhard Schloemer, Managing Director Operations, Central andEastern Europe at FedEx Express. “The donations from FedEx contribute to the further developmentand expansion of our facility,” added Manfred Persy, head of SOS Hof Bockum.

SOS Children’s Villages is an international non-governmental social development organisationthat has been active in the field of children’s rights and committed to children’s needs andconcerns since 1949. It is active in 132 countries and territories focusing on children withoutparental care and children of families in difficult circumstances.
