Deutsche Post’s e-letter attracts over 100 business customers in 7 weeks

Deutsche Post’s electronic letter service is becoming increasingly popular with more than 100business customers signing up for it since its launch in July.

In just seven weeks, Deutsche Post has doubled the number of business customers registering forthe new product as over 100 German companies want to communicate with their customers through the ‘E-Postbrief’.

The new customers include industry leaders such as the health insurance company AOK PLUS, Lindt& Sprungli, and other insurance companies including Itzehoer Versicherungen, VHV Versicherungenand Hannoversche Leben.

“We are delighted about such an overwhelming feedback,” said Jürgen Gerdes, mail and parcelschief at Deutsche Post DHL. “The feedback from the industry tells us: the e-mail letter will becomea cross-industrial success product for Germany.”

Since its market launch in mid-July, numerous companies decided to go for the e-letter includingbig names like Allianz, BIG direkt gesund, Globetrotter, Kreissparkasse Köln, die LandesärzekammerHessen, SAP, Sutor Bank and Zurich Versicherung.

The new E-Postbrief helps reduce costs while still reaching all customers. In future,individuals, companies and authorities can communicate with each other in the global world in abinding, confidential and reliable way.

All users must identify themselves clearly. Sender and receiver thus know beyond doubt, withwhom they communicate. All e-mail letters are encrypted and cannot be viewed or changed byunauthorised persons.

Deutsche Post stressed that the e-letter can reduce costs of mail logistics for companies andadministrations by up to 60%. In addition, users can select via a button whether the letter is sentelectronically to another E-Postbrief account or delivered by a postman via Deutsche Post.
