TNT is expanding in Saudi Arabia with new facilities after increasing revenues in the country by30% in the first half of the year.
TNT SAB Express has moved to a new head office in Jeddah after taking on new staff and has alsointroduced two additional retail outlets in the city, located in the historic areas of Al-Balad andPrince Majed Street.
The express company said it aims to benefit from the country’s economic growth and expandingpopulation to grow its presence in the market. The population of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia isexpected to increase from around 26.5 million people to 31.7 million over the next five years. Thenumber of expatriates, who currently make up 26% of the population, is forecast to rise to between7.9 and 8.5 million.
“Saudi imports have grown significantly over the past few years and have catapulted the countryahead of other leading Middle Eastern countries in the logistics field. Our strong performance forthe first half of this year especially reflects the growing opportunities in the Kingdom’s deliveryservices sector, and we are adopting fresh strategies to become even more visible in this growthmarket. Our move to new offices will further enhance our image and leverage the strong globalpatronage enjoyed by the TNT brand,” said Martyn Wright, Managing Director, TNT SAB Express SaudiArabia.
TNT SAB Express said in June that it had opened nine new branches in recent months, added morestaff and introduced new technology to profit from the market growth.
