Time:matters, the German-based courier, same-day and emergency logistics specialist, now hasaccess to Austrian Airlines flights under a cooperation deal that started on August 15.
The company, part of the Lufthansa Group, said its customers will benefit from quicker and morefrequent connections within Europe and to destinations outside of Europe for their time-criticalshipments. This is the latest international network expansion following agreements with Europeancarriers such as Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Adria Airlines, Swiss World Cargo andCondor.
Through the collaboration, time:matters said it has increased its route frequency byapproximately 1,300 connections per week. In particular, the company can use capacity on 50 directflights from Vienna, the hub of Austrian Airlines. This eliminates transit flights via Frankfurt orMunich that were previously necessary and in part considerably reduces transport times.
“With over 500 stations in 90 countries and more than 3,000 connections per day, we have a verydense high-frequency network,” explained Steven Plenk, Country Manager time:matters Austria. “Dueto this partnership, we can guarantee our customers even shorter transport times. The greaterselection of connections ensures that our service is more flexible and can be used even morespontaneously.”
time:matters offers Special Speed Solutions to destinations worldwide based on high-speedand reliable transport by air, rail and road, as well as a tight international network consistingof more than 500 exclusive transportation partners. It has access to over 3,000 flights per day tosome 500 destinations in 90 countries. In 2008, the company generated revenues of about €60million.
