UPS is attempting to increase its presence in Indonesia’s express market by expanding itsalliance with one of the country’s major domestic couriers, PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Eka Kurir

(JNE).

Via its Indonesian joint venture PT UPS Cardig International, UPS has relied on JNE since 2000to deliver its international express packages beyond Jakarta and Bali. Under the new agreement, JNEwill market, pick up and deliver UPS packages Indonesia-wide.

UPS said the addition of JNE’s 1,000 centres across the country significantly improved theaccess of Indonesian customers outside of Jakarta and Bali to UPS’s international express deliveryservice, “enhancing their ability to compete globally”.

Craig Foster, Vice President for the South District at UPS Asia Pacific, said: “This newrelationship with JNE will further strengthen UPS’s capabilities in Indonesia. With JNErepresenting UPS nationwide, more Indonesian customers with international express deliveryrequirements will now have access to UPS’s network and technology.”

UPS began serving Indonesia in 1988, and now has more than 200 staff and seven operatingfacilities across the country.
