DHL has launched a new ‘one-stop full service’ offering for online retailers in Germany coveringnot only transportation and delivery but also webhosting and other business services.
The new DHL eParcel service is designed to cover the entire e-commerce supply chain and willenable retailers to outsource logistics and other business activities on a modular basis, thecompany announced. It is targeted primarily at Power Sellers, online traders and companies seekingto use the internet as an additional sales channel.
Alongside the basic module of logistics, retailers can contract DHL Parcel Germany to createwebshops, to provide customer support and to handle payments. The latter two modules will beavailable from next year. DHL Parcel Germany will provide the additional services in cooperationwith experienced sub-contracted partners, including OXID eSales AG and eFulfilment TransactionServices GmbH.
“With this new solution we are continuing to pursue our strategy of offering our businesscustomers rapid and simple access to online trading,” explained Andrej Busch, marketing director ofDHL Parcel Germany. The company sees significant potential in internet sales which it aims totarget through the eParcel service, he added.
The ‘one-stop’ DHL solution enables retailers to avoid having to trade online by integratingdiverse services from different providers. The DHL eParcel modular services are fully integratedwith each other and can be added according to customer needs. In addition, customers have onesingle DHL contact person in all project phases and transparent pricing without any setup or hiddenfixed costs, the company pointed out.
