French express operator Chronopost has launched a new packaging solution for its expressshipping service “Prêt-à-Expédier” (“Ready to ship”) with new bubble envelopes provided for
next-day delivery before 13:00 all over France.The new packaging offers customers a new format of bubble envelopes ideal for express deliveryof small goods weighing less than 1 kg such as mobile phones, CDs/DVDs, mp3 players or forgottenitems (keys, glasses etc.). The innovative packaging can be stored easily as it is flat andinflates automatically when opening to ensure an optimal protection of the content.
The “Prêt-à-Expédier service launched in 2008 comprises packaging with integrated protection,next-day express delivery before 13:00, delivery to the customer against signature or to a letterbox in case of absence (free option). In addition, customers have the possibility to track theirshipments on the way from depot to final delivery.
The bubble envelopes are available from 12 April in the 3,000 largest post offices and 60Chronopost agencies. From 3 May onwards, they will be rolled out in all 12,000 post offices and2,350 mail facilities across the country.
Founded in 1985 as La Poste’s express subsidiary, Chronopost employs 3,500 staff handling250,000 parcels daily. Its network in France comprises 76 operational sites including 6 hubs.
