FedEx Express is speeding up deliveries from Asia to Europe with the launch of a new HongKong-Paris flight.
The direct roundtrip flight is operating five days a week between Hong Kong and Paris, enablingthe company to be the first provider to offer a next-business-day service from Hong Kong to Europe,FedEx Express Europe announced.
The new flight is FedEx’s third intercontinental lane from EMEA to Asia, joining existingconnections from Paris via Delhi to Shanghai, and from Paris to the FedEx Guangzhou hub in China.The aircraft type was not disclosed.
FedEx customers importing from Hong Kong to Europe can now enjoy overnight delivery to keycities in major European markets, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, GreatBritain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Thisservice represents a one-business-day improvement in transit time on FedEx International Priorityand FedEx International Priority Freight shipments to Europe.

The service enhancement is part of an ongoing focus by FedEx to strengthen the trade lanebetween Asia and Europe. Enhancements by FedEx for the Asia-Europe segment started in March 2005with the launch of the air cargo industry’s first express direct flight from mainland China toEurope. It was followed in September 2005 by a second flight doubling the capacity between Europeand Asia, with a stop in Delhi making it the first overnight express daily flight between India andChina. In February 2009, FedEx opened its Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou, which represents itslong-term commitment to providing better services and access to businesses in Asia.
