DHL enhances its global express import services

DHL extends express import services

DHL Express today announced a major worldwide service enhancement with the extension of next-dayimport deliveries to more than 200 countries, along with time-definite imports to a large number of

countries around the world.

The express operator said that in addition to offering the most extensive next business dayimport service to more than 200 countries around the world, it is now backing its pre-noon andpre-nine import deliveries by on-time delivery guarantees in 135 and 90 countries respectively. Theservice extension comes as the World Trade Organization (WTO) forecasts global trade growth of 9.5% in 2010 and DHL year-to-date volume statistics suggest a positive development on many tradelanes.

DHL IMPORT EXPRESS 12:00 assures delivery by noon for vital deliveries to major cities, townsand business centres, with transportation charges met by the receiver at destination. The enhancedservice level is now available to customers in 135 countries and offers a full money-back guaranteein the unlikely event of a late shipment delivery.

Customers who need an even earlier delivery to their premises can now take advantage of DHLIMPORT EXPRESS 9:00, which is offered to major cities across 90 countries worldwide with the samefull money-back guarantee. Customers can use either local customer service hotlines or DHL’s onlineshipping tools to choose their preferred time of inbound delivery.

DHL said it plans to inform consumers on its leading import services through a global campaignthat kicks off this week.

The newly enhanced import services portfolio reflects the company’s strategy to concentrate onthe cross-border express business. DHL has considerably strengthened its international expressdelivery network in the past year, building further its industry leading expertise andcapabilities. The successful optimisation of its global network and enhancement of its worldwideimport billing capabilities over the past months paved the way for expanding DHL’s Import Expressservices.

DHL said its import services are useful for all express customers who receive shipments fromproduction facilities or suppliers in different parts of the world. Those importing time sensitivegoods, such as replacement spare parts, and who need absolute confidence in their arrival atdestination, together with the highest control over transport costs, find the services particularlyuseful. Likewise, companies of all sizes in the technology sector, value the in-house customsexpertise of DHL and the absence of needing a warehouse at destination.
