GLS delivers deluxe to Belux

GLS has been awarded a delivery contract by French company LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics for thedistribution of perfumes, make-up and beauty products in Belgium and Luxemburg.

“The strong European network of GLS has attracted LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics Belux along withthe promise of high quality and flexibility,” stressed Belgin Köse, Financing Director of LVMHPerfumes & Cosmetics Benelux. “This adds to fast delivery and reliable control of parcelsthroughout the whole delivery process.”

GLS Belgium transports the luxury products of LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics Belux via Anderlechtnear Brussels to the perfumeries all over Belgium and Luxemburg. “Every day we take care of thelabelling and the distribution via two lorries loaded with product pallets from France,” saidEberhard Fritze, Managing Director Europe West. “In addition, two recipients receive their productson pallets from our freight subsidiary GLS Belgium Distribution.”

LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics Belux uses the full service range of GLS in Belgium profiting fromits freight and parcels network. These two networks are perfectly adapted to the delivery of eachindividual product, GLS said in a statement.

The shipments are under continuous control, Fritze explained: “GLS registers via scanning everyparcel in the network and at every interface, meaning at the entry and the exit of the depots andat delivery. The data are entered in our IT system and can be accessed via our website with theparcel number and this in near-real time.” Moreover, the conveyors are fully under videosurveillance.

“For us, GLS Belgium has to prove itself on a daily basis,” Köse said. “If successful, both interms of the service quality and value for money, we might extend our cooperation.”
