DPD Germany supports sponsorship for sports stars

DPD Germany is supporting the ‘Your Name for Germany’ initiative as an official partner of thesports aid organisation ‘Deutsche Sporthilfe’.

This initiative enables all sports fan to sponsor top sportsmen and sportswomen for just €3 amonth.

In the coming weeks, DPD will promote the idea of becoming a sponsor to all its employees andcustomers as part of its three-year cooperation with Deutsche Sporthilfe. The parcel provider hasbeen supporting Deutsche Sporthilfe since 2004.

“Sportsmen and women need our support if they are to become examples within our society,”declared DPD CEO Arnold Schroven. “As a partner to Deutsche Sporthilfe, we want the support of asmany of our customers and members of our workforce as possible. This is to be achieved by extensivecommunications activities and special incentives for staff and customers.”

“With this involvement, DPD is committing itself to the timeless values which are exemplified insport – dedication and passion combined with team spirit and fair play,” Schroven added.

The thinking behind the campaign is also that many athletes do not have sufficient financialmeans for their social security and an adequate living which is often an obstacle for their sportscareer, DPD said in a statement.

German athletes sponsored by Sporthilfe have won more than 200 gold medals since 1967.
