Night Star Express achieves shipment volumes record in 2009

German-based Night Star Express GmbH Logistik registered a 6% volume growth during 2009 reachinga record figure of 3.5 million shipments despite the difficult economic environment.

With this positive result, NSE not only reached its goal of maintaining its position on themarket but showed an even stronger growth compared to the average of the whole CEP industry.

“The economic development in 2009 was a test of own capabilities for all companies. We havepassed it in a better way than the others. The crisis has reinforced and accelerated trends that webenefited from,” explained Matthias Hohmann, the managing director at Night Star Express.

“Despite the difficult market conditions, we were able to further expand our position as aleading night express provider. The reason for our shipping record is the continuously growingdemand for value-adding After Sales Logistik. We were able to win new customers, especially throughexpanding international routes and with First Class, our individualised, high-quality night expressservice. In addition, we generate cost savings for our clients in the sectors storage andpersonnel. During economically tense times, these are decisive factors.”

This year, Night Star Express remains confident and expects further growth with a shippingvolume increase from existing clients as well as current contract negotiations. “We haveestablished ourselves among our customers as a reliable business partner who acts in a flexible andcustomer-oriented way on the First Class-quality level,” Hohmann continued.

“With targeted projects and measures, we have adapted to this market situation. All this is ahealthy basis to pilot the business model of Night Star Express successfully in the year 2010 aswell,” he concluded.
