Spanish express operator MRW has been awarded a renewed contract with Privalia, the leadingprivate online shop in the country for the distribution of its products across Spain during
2010.Under the deal, MRW’s division Advanced Logistics will be responsible for handling the ordersmade via Privalia’s portal and ensuring delivery to end customers. On request, MRW will also be incharge of the product return processes and refunding.
Privalia has renewed its contract with MRW after a year of intensive cooperation during whichthe express operator responded to the growing service needs of the private club. In less than threeyears, Privalia has positioned itself as an important international player in online sales. Itcurrently counts over 2 million members in Spain handling more than 100,000 orders per month.
MRW said its Advanced Logistics unit currently offers the best service for the e-commerce marketdemanding high levels of quality, fast transit times and large capacities. “One of the elementsthat make the MRW service different besides its network is the product range in logistics we offerto our customers,” the company said in a statement.
MRW is a reliable partner for online shops as 90% of the Spanish population lives less than 5 kmaway from its more than 1,300 franchises. “This proximity enables us to guarantee delivery within24 hours for domestic shipments and, if necessary, effect refunds and returns quickly andefficiently,” MRW added.
Since 2009, MRW has become increasingly competitive in the e-commerce market and aims tostrengthen its position in this promising sector offering new solutions and adapting to newdemands. The company also advises new customers who wants to start up their own online business.The agreement with Privalia adds to other contracts MRW already has with other online businessesoperating in Spain.
Last month, MRW has launched a new e-commerce service targeted especially at large, small andmedium enterprises (SMEs) already selling over the internet and companies planning to start theirown online businesses.
As a private club, Privalia sells exclusively to its members products of leading brands withexceptional discounts of up to 70%. Its business activity has grown since its launch in 2006together with the number of employees increasing from 16 to 400. The company operates in Spain,Italy, Brasil and Mexico.
