Austrian Post has further extended its nationwide postal network and its successful partnershipwith the Austrian general insurer Generali Group.
With immediate effect, Austrian Post has increased the total number of post offices to 1,667across the country. The postal company operates 1,132 own branches and 535 postal service pointsthrough partners.
“Last year, we promised to solidify our network and we kept our promise. But our expansion plansdo not end here, we continue talking with all Austrian municipalities about an own Post.Partneragency,” stated Herbert Götz, board member at Austrian Post.
Separately, Austrian Post has further strengthened its strategic partnership with the Austrianinsurance company Generali Group through a new contract for printing and enveloping documents ofGenerali’s customers.
Under the deal, Austrian Post prints and envelopes 27.5 million sheets annually which mainlyinclude policies and advertising mailings but also general correspondence.
Through its service offering, Austrian Post has succeeded in retracting a contract previouslyawarded to a service provider in Slovakia, the postal operator said in a statement.
“For a long time, the post has not only been offering its core competences to its customersincluding the classical services such as reception, sorting and delivery of shipments. Our servicerange has been expanded gradually and extended with new business services. Our aim is to turn froma pure shipment delivery provider to a full-service provider,” said Austrian Post board memberWalter Hitziger.
The Austrian Generali Group underlined the importance of fast and reliable delivery of itscustomers’ shipments. “Our customers rightly expect to receive all information on their insurancepolicies at a very short notice. This requires a sophisticated supply chain and a professionalpartner which we have found in the post,” stressed Peter Thirring, Generali Board Member.
The Generali Group is Austria’s third-largest insurer with a market share of roughly 15%. Thegroup operates under the umbrella of Generali Holding Vienna AG and is part of the global groupAssicurazioni Generali S.p.A. operating in 65 countries with a workforce of 80,000 employees.
