British parcels and postal operator UK Mail Group (formerly Business Post Group) has launched anew economy service enabling British customers to send their physical mail via internet for less
than the cost of a second class stamp.The new hybrid mail solution is part of the “imail” service that UK Mail launched last year asthe only alternative to Royal Mail’s first class postal service. This unique service allows usersto create, proof, print and post letters, postcards and marketing material directly from a PC, MACor laptop with cost savings of up to 65% while also reducing the carbon footprint of a letter bymore than 80%.
The charge for sending a double-sided A4 letter will start from just 29p, with each additionalside costing 2p up to a maximum of 8 sides, making it the cheapest solution of its kind currentlyavailable in the UK, UK Mail said in a statement.
The black and white service will enable companies to create, customise and send double-sidedletters via an easy-to-use use web browser or downloaded print driver. The solution complements theexisting full-colour offering available for letters, flyers, mailshots and postcards. It provides alow-cost alternative to communicating with customers, prospects, partners and suppliers, suitablefor companies of all sizes and offers. In addition, customers can generate substantial savings whentaking into consideration printing, production and postage costs.
Eliminating the need to print, envelope and frank mail, the service not only removes costlyproduction overheads but also saves time compared to the traditional solution. This makes it idealfor last minute and targeted campaigns or offers with users able to send their mailings as late as6 pm for nationwide delivery. The service also affords flexibility through its option of one or twoday-definite delivery.
