GLS clocks up 10,000 EasyStart parcels

GLS Germany has shipped 10,000 parcels via a new online service just four months after itslaunch.

The European parcels firm said its Easy-Start service, which went online in October 2009, hasnow clocked up this milestone figure.

Targeted at private customers and small commercial customers such as Ebay Powersellers,Easy-Start offers registered users online management of parcel shipping. Customers can checkprices, pay online via PayPal and then create and print out address labels.

Users can then order a GLS courier to pick up their items on the next day for an additional €4charge, regardless of how many parcels are to be delivered, or take franked parcels to one of the5,000 GLS Parcel Shops in Germany.
 
“We are very happy to see that our additional service for private and small businesscustomers has been so well received,” said Eberhard Fritze, Managing Director Europe West.Easy-Start also provides customers with add-on features such as a time-saving recipient datamanagement programme,” he added.
